Fleet Technician/Specialist / Mechanic

The South Adams County Water & Sanitation District (SACWSD), dedicated to providing affordable and sustainable water resources to its customers, is seeking an experience individual to join our Fleet/Facilities department.

This position primarily performs a variety of skilled and technical tasks to maintain, service, test, diagnose, inspect and repair the District’s fleet of automobiles, light and heavy duty trucks and equipment including:

 

·  Perform regular routine service and maintenance including oil changes, flat repair; lights, and brakes

·  Install accessories on vehicles

·  Perform periodic DOT inspections on vehicles and equipment

·  Troubleshoot problems, issues and complaints

·  Maintain repair shop inventory

·  Track and update vehicle/equipment maintenance schedules and repairs, work orders, and work records

·  May assist with facilities maintenance as required

 

The qualified candidate should have:

·  High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience which may include supplemental specialized training in automotive/equipment repair

·  Vocational training in auto and equipment repair

·  ASE State Certification of 2 of the following: T4, T8, A5 or G1 or the ability to obtain within 24 months of accepting the position.

·  Valid, current Colorado Commercial Driver’s License    

·  A minimum of 3 (three) years experience as a mechanic, or fleet department related position

·  Proficiency with technology

·  Strong problem solving, organizational and communication

·  Self starter, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment necessary

 

Successful candidate will be required to complete a drug screen and background check prior to employment.

 

Hiring Salary Range: $25-$40/hr depending on qualifications
